Lara Langelett was raised and went to school in San Louis Obispo, California. She attended to the University of Lincoln Nebraska (UNL), which gave her the opportunity to experience a range of abilities, family structure, and social-economic levels. Getting quality experience through the Special Education Program gave her knowledge on how to apply theory into practice. After graduating at UNL she taught students with mild, moderate, and severely profound disabilities in Wisconsin for one year. Her Special Education jobs led her to South Dakota and she then decided to attend South Dakota State University (SDSU) to earn her Masters in school counseling. Having that foundation led her to have a successful career. Working as a Special Educator in multiple settings (middle school, k-12 environments, and elementary) showed her the importance of a counseling background. Obtaining a masters degree in school counseling, has brought insight into developing appropriate plans for children, staff, and families. Her future career plan is to pursue school counseling and work with a variety of children.
Lara and her husband, George, have two children, Ian, 11 years old, and Ariana, 4 years old. In the small amount of free time that she has, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids. Along with cleaning out her garage and shed to find what lovely things her husband has left in there for her. She loves doing art and playing the piano.
